Australia Post expand their parcel facility centre

Australia Post recently expanded their parcel facility centre located in Melbourne’s Sunshine West. As part of a $2 billion investment, the extended centre has doubled processing capacity while offering flexible delivery points and times.

Moddex were selected to supply Tuffrail Industrial Guardrails across the centre’s mezzanines, stairs, service platforms and pedestrian walkways, offering robust and compliant protection for employees and workers. With more than 5000 metres of platforms and walkways, the centre has reduced manual handling by 50 per cent.

The Moddex CAD Team offered unlimited support and invaluable advice during the design phase of this project. From the outset our team of technical advisors offered direction and recommendations to guarantee compliance with Australian Standards applicable to workers at heights.

Following the successful design and installation of Moddex Tuffrail across Phase 1 of this project, Australia Post engaged Moddex for design and installation of all industrial guardrails planned for subsequent phases at the centre.

Moddex Tuffgard Toeboard systems were also installed across the centre, protecting Australia Post employees from falling objects across elevated platforms, walkways and mezzanines. Featuring pre-drilled holes at intervals compliant with AS1657:2013, Moddex Toeboards were installed with high time and cost efficiencies to the centre.
