In accordance with the NCC/BCA D2.16, a continuous balustrade or other barrier must be provided along the side of any ramp when any level of the ramp is 1m above the surface beneath.

In this instance, handrails such as the AR20, AR60 or AR120 used on ramps, require a transition into a barrier/balustrade configuration (CB35, CB45 or CB55), with the barrier/balustrade configuration complying with NCC/BCA D2.16.
